2009 Challenge
This year's race had 18 teams completing 11 challenges around the Village:
Shootout - Teams needed to make 3-point baskets. Pro teams needed to make 10 and family teams needed to make 5.

Flying Shish Kabob - Teams threw 'Lawn Jarts' to a Hula Hoop target and obtained a 'Fast Forward' bonus if they popped a balloon at the back of the hoop. The 'Fast Forward' coupon allowed them to get completion credit for one challenge when presented at that challenge. Pro teams threw from 40' and family teams threw from 30'. Both teams needed two in a row in the hoop to complete the challenge.

Killer Candy - Teams shot Gobstoppers with slingshots at clay pigeons positioned on a rack. Pro teams needed to break 4 and family teams needed to break 2.

Paper Boy - Teams threw Advertisers from a bike at moving and stationary targets. Pro teams needed to hit 5 targets and family teams needed to hit 3.

Tribute to the Titanic - Teams selected two members and they had to paddle a 2 person rubber raft around the no wake buoys at the Oakwood Knolls beach on Cross Lake. Both teams had the same completion criteria.

Tres Petit Tour - Teams completed a mini version of the Tour de France on an exercise bike. Pro teams needed to travel a combined 5 miles and family teams traveled 3.

Einstein's Revenge - Teams answered Trivial Pursuit questions. Both teams needed to get 4 correct.

Pirate's Booty - Teams followed clues around the Antioch Upper Grade School to complete the challenge. First 20 people through the challenge received movie passes to the Antioch Theater.

Crosse Masters - Teams passed a ball along the length of a field using lacrosse sticks.

Boot Camp - Teams were 'attached' with flagging tape and needed to complete an obstacle course without breaking the tape. This included dragging a large SUV tire, crawling under a web and climbing over hay bale stacks.

The Village People - Teams followed clues to various businesses in Antioch to obtain chips that needed to be turned in for point credit upon completion of the race.

Final Challenge - The top three teams in each division competed in a Final Challenge to determine the top three places. Teams started out eating cherry pies. In the cherry pies were two-thirds of the combination for a lock that unlocked a Hippety Hop. The third part of the combination was buried in a pool of mud. Once they figured out the correct combination sequence and unlocked the Hippety Hop, they needed to complete a slalom course wearing bike helmets adorned with wigs. From there, they climbed up a greased sledding hill to complete the challenge.
